My Bio

Halley Kim is a writer, dreamer, rabble-rouser, and advocate. She is the author of a book that hasn’t been written yet, but she’s working on it (and it’s on the internet now, so she has to do it). Writing is Halley’s way of making sense of a troubling yet beautiful world.

By day Halley is a registered nurse and a lactation consultant. Other hats she’s worn include stay-at-home-mom, doula, grassroots organizer, and pastor’s wife. She is passionate about women and that comes out in all sorts of ways, from raising awareness about maternal mortality to advocating for egalitarianism in the church.

Halley is obsessed with The Handmaid’s Tale and Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and recently, Schitt’s Creek. She is completely geeked-out with the enneagram and her “4ness.” Halley loves bookstores, bathtubs, chocolate, and understanding divinity and humanity in fresh ways.

Upon becoming a mother she started the blog “Peace, Love, and Spit Up,” where Halley wrote about parenting & marriage, birth & breastfeeding. When spit up became no longer personally relevant to her and Halley found herself writing interests shifting, it was time for something new.

This space is for conversations about shape-shifting faith, inconvenient questions, justice work, and wayward journeys. Welcome. You can bring your full self here.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Halley makes her home there with her husband, Simon, and their three children: Gabriel, Phoebe, and Tabitha.

Halley can be found on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. If you’re like to reach out to Halley, please click here.
